Monday, April 19th: Students have been working on their basic multiplication facts and 2 digit by 1 digit multiplication. We will start looking at different 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication strategies this week.
Monday, January 18th: We have started to explore the concept of volume.
Monday, January 7th: Our class has started the unit on Measurement. We are exploring units of measurement (mm, cm, m, km) as well as investigating Perimeter and Area of rectangles.
Monday, November 23rd:
We have started to finish up the Numeration unit and move into adding and subtracting decimals. We will begin by reviewing adding and subtracting large numbers without decimals.
Monday, November 9th:
Students have been working on the Numeration unit to this point. They have explored numbers up to one million (1 000 000) and as well as decimal numbers to the thousandths place value (0.001).
Students should know the difference between a digits place and value, as well as represent numbers in different ways (For example, expanded form, standard form, words, and a place value chart).

NOTE: Multiplication facts are a huge part of the math program as children get older, and because of this importance there will be a weekly 5 minute multiplication quiz on basic facts from 1-9. Students may use the below multiplication chart for practice if they choose.
